After the seismic alert sounded, protocols were activated in the nation’s capital.
The National Seismic Service (SSN) of Mexico reported on Thursday that a magnitude 5.2 earthquake was recorded in the south of the Aztec country, around 13H00 local time (19:00 GMT).

The Risk Management and Civil Protection Portfolio of Mexico City reported that after the seismic alert placed in the security cameras of the country’s capital, protocols were activated in the nation’s capital.
There are no records of casualties at the sites where the earthquake was reported, and according to authorities, eight microearthquakes have occurred in Mexico City (capital) in the last 12 hours, the most of 2.0 degrees with epicenter in the subsoil of that capital.
Between 10H26 and 11H50 (16:26 and 17:50 GMT) the last three movements were detected in the Aztec nation, with reports at the Mixcoac town hall, west of the megalopolis, and south of the capital city Álvaro Obregón.
The small earthquakes in the capital are not only related to plate tectonic shocks that have epicenter on the coasts of the state of Guerrero (south), such as Ciudad Altamirano.
